CatchMeUp Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of CatchMeUp ("the Bot"). By using the Bot, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Bot.

2. Service Description

CatchMeUp provides AI-assisted summaries of Discord channel conversations and optional Q&A over recent chat. For the service as we operate it, processing is performed using Google's Gemini family of models in a hybrid configuration (for example lighter or Flash Lite–class models for broad usage and higher-capability or Flash–class models for Pro or for specific routing), subject to change as Google releases updates or as we adjust configuration for cost, quality, or availability. Exact model identifiers and endpoints may differ from marketing names and may change without updating these Terms. If we ever use additional or alternate model providers for operational reasons, the product will still provide the same class of features (summaries and, where available, Q&A), unless we notify you through the Bot or these Terms.

You interact with the Bot through Discord (for example slash commands such as /catchmeup). How much history is considered, how replies are shown, and what options are available depend on your tier, channel activity, and the command options you choose—the Bot's in-product help and behavior are the practical reference, and those details may change as the product evolves.

CatchMeUp is offered in tiers, including without limitation:

• Free tier:access to summary features using lighter-footprint models and fair-use limits designed to keep the service sustainable. Some advanced features (such as interactive Q&A) may require Pro or may show upgrade prompts.
• Pro tier:broader context and additional capabilities (including Q&A where offered), with access to premium-tier models subject to fair use. The Developer may adjust routing between model tiers—for example to manage cost or availability—and may communicate such behavior in the Bot.

Unless Discord shows otherwise for a given interaction, replies to slash commands are typically ephemeral (visible only to the user who ran the command). Usage caps and daily limits described in the Bot generally reset at midnight Coordinated Universal Time (UTC).

3. Appropriate Use & Fair Use Policy

You agree to use the Bot responsibly. To ensure service stability for all users, Stego Apps ("the Developer") enforces a Fair Use Policy:

Limits and controls: The Bot may apply rate limits, cooldowns, per-server or periodic usage caps, anti-spam measures, or similar controls. Limits may differ by tier and may change over time. Where practical, expectations or notices may be shown in the Bot. On Pro, per-user cooldowns may not apply, while a very short server-wide throttle may still apply to prevent abuse or overload.

High-Volume Guilds: For servers with exceptionally high volume (e.g., those exceeding 50,000 members or consistently generating high request counts), the Developer reserves the right to:

• Apply additional rate-limiting or "speed bumps."
• Transition the server to a custom Enterprise Tier.
• Temporarily suspend service to maintain global stability.

Prohibited Acts:You must not attempt to "DDoS" the bot, use automated scripts to bypass cooldowns, or reverse engineer the Bot, its integrations, or Discord's APIs.

4. AI Disclaimer

CatchMeUp uses generative AI to produce responses. AI output may be incomplete, inaccurate, or contain "hallucinations." You are responsible for verifying important information. The Developer is not liable for losses, disputes, or misunderstandings resulting from reliance on AI-generated output.

5. Premium Subscriptions (CatchMeUp Pro)

Billing:All CatchMeUp Pro subscriptions are handled exclusively through Discord's native monetization system.

Scope:Pro is purchased for a specific server (Guild) through Discord's monetization flow. The Pro entitlement applies to that Guild, and Pro features are available to users there while Discord shows the subscription or entitlement as active for that Guild. Which purchase applies to which Guild is determined by Discord, not by a separate Stego Apps checkout.

Refunds:All payment disputes, billing cycles, and refunds are governed by Discord's payment policies.

6. Availability and Changes

The Bot is provided on an "as is" basis. Stego Apps may change, suspend, or discontinue features (including model versions) at any time to account for API costs or platform changes.

7. Termination and Access Restriction

The Developer reserves the right to terminate access for any server or user found to be intentionally attempting to spike API costs, harassing the service, or violating Discord's Developer Policy.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Developer (Stego Apps) is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of data or profit, arising from the use or inability to use the Bot.

9. Governing Platform Rules

Use of CatchMeUp is also subject to Discord's Developer Policy and Discord's Terms of Service. In the event of a conflict between these Terms and Discord's rules as a platform, Discord's platform requirements control.
